Jollibee launches first ever Family Values Awards

August 19, 2011

If there’s one thing that makes the Filipino family stand out, it’s their commitment to stay close to one another no matter what. From sharing simple meals to special family events and milestones, the Pinoy family finds irreplaceable joy just by being together.

Celebrating the unique bond of the Filipino family, Jollibee through its flagship product Chickenjoy – a consistent   family meal favorite— has launched the first-ever Jollibee Family Values Awards. The recognition aims to honor Filipino families whose strong and joyful ties help and inspire their communities in unique ways.

“These are the families whose exceptional bonds enrich not just their own lives but also that of their respective communities. Through their examples and  collective deeds   while embodying respect, optimism and generosity, they show the many joys that close family ties bring and how these  positively affect society,” shares Albert Cuadrante, Jollibee VP for Marketing. “It’s a nationwide search and we invite everyone to join as a family or nominate other fun and outstanding families who have touched their lives and their community one way or another.”

Five winning families from Mega Manila, Northern Luzon, Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will each get P100,000 in cash (tax-free), a trophy specially designed by Michael Cacnio, and P10,000 worth of Jollibee Gift Certificates.

Joining the search is easy. Nominators must simply accomplish the nomination form (available for free in all Jollibee branches nationwide or through and answer a separate questionnaire on the nominees’ suitability and eligibility. Deadline of submission of entries is on or before September 15, 2011.

Any Filipino family currently residing in the Philippines may be nominated. Children should be aged 18 years and below. The families will be judged based on the following criteria: family values (40%), impact outside the family (40%), degree of participation of the family (10%) and uniqueness of story (10%). Shortlisted nominees will be interviewed and will be required to submit supporting documents.

The five most exemplary Pinoy families will be chosen by Jollibee Foods Corporation and its project partner Center for Family Ministries, together with a distinguished panel of judges including TV personalities Julius Babao and Christine Bersola-Babao, Department of Social Welfare and Development Secretary Dinky Soliman, and parenting columnist Cathy Babao-Guballa. They will be feted during the awarding ceremony on the last week of September, to coincide with the National Family Week celebrations.

“This is our way of giving back to Filipino families for making Jollibee Chickenjoy  a part of their lives and for continuing to inspire us to give only the best tasting food that families across generations will enjoy,” adds Cuadrante.
