2011 Winners

Mr. & Mrs. Emmanuel and Mila Mercado and family from Quezon City (Mega Manila)

The Mercado family inspires others by sharing their unique story through articles in magazines, radio and TV programs, as well as seminars in church communities and schools. The family is also involved in advocating the implementation of the accessibility law in the Philippines.

Mr. & Mrs. Ireneo and Flordeliza Depla and family from Sta. Maria Bulacan (North Luzon)

Flor is a midwife who volunteers her services in the Barangay. She also acts as a guarantor for women in her Barangay who wants to put up small businesses. She conducts seminars for new mothers in her Barangay. All family members are active in the different projects of their Barangay (e.g. medical missions, etc.)

Mr. & Mrs. Edonis and Christine Francisco from Lucena City (South Luzon)

The Francisco family started a feeding program in Gumaca, Quezon in 2009. They have also organized feeding programs in 43 sites in Lucena City. They conduct this program every 6 months, 3 times a week and monitors growth of the children. The family also organizes medical missions and assists others financially. They also assist children with cleft palate in their surgery.

Mr. and Mrs. Ernesto and Remedios Suplido and family from Silay City (Visayas)

Ernesto and Mardi facilitate and give talks to couples with the Christian Family Movement’s Discovery Weekend and Marriage Encounter. While all of the children speak and regularly facilitate the 7 Habits for Highly Effective Teens workshops and Youth Aid’s Kids for Peace summer workshops.

Mr. and Mrs. Rey and Marjorie Cartojano from General Santos City (Mindanao)

The Cartojano family are all active members of the Red Cross. Aside from this the family also launched several websites and blogs to help promote General Santos and it’s local events to the world.
